General Description

The 2DX3 final project consist of having to build an embedded spatial mapping system capable of creating a 3D map of a single vertical geometric plane using a time-of-flight (ToF) sensor and a stepper motor controlled by a microcontroller which ultimately output data as a 3D visualizer.

The objective is to make a more cost-effective and lighter Commercial Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) system where the sensor should collect data for the microcontroller to process and communicate the result. For communication it uses UART and I2C communication between the ToF sensor and the microcontroller. This data collected and read through the python program which is then sent to the visualizer.
